Watertown Municipal Utilities has a full-time opening for an Apprentice or Certified Water Distribution & Maintenance Operator

This position involves completing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks associated with construction, maintenance and repair of the City’s water system. Work involves responsibility for performing a variety of tasks associated with the installation and repair of water mains and fire hydrants and maintaining the City’s water towers, fire hydrants, wells, pumps and water meters. Work involves contact with the public and contractors in answering service requests, monitoring contractor work and inspecting water line installations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of a water distribution/maintenance foreman who reviews work through inspections and reports for adherence to prescribed standards.

Must pass a Class I Water Distribution & Maintenance certification exam within twelve (12) months of employment in the position and shall have or obtain a Class A CDL within six (6) months of employment.
